Online Resources

MATH & Science

  • Table Talk Math is an online math program that Washington’s Math Coach Kim Syer has purchased for our community. To sign up, click the link and select the course that best suits your student(s), When you go to check out, enter WASHELEM20 into the “add a coupon” section of checkout. It will take the $9 individual cost and bring it to $0. Once families sign up, they will get access to the entire course, not stretched out every five days.

  • Kids Discover has articles and activities related to the CCSS and NGSS. They are offering free resources to teachers to support virtual learning.

Reading

  • Washington teachers doing read-alouds

  • Washington’s library page, with loads of free resources like typing and coding. Here is a short video by Mr. Zarate explaining how to log in to your child’s school Google account.

  • Audible has made hundreds of children (ages 0-18) audio books completely free to help kids stay relaxed and entertained. No account required. No credit card needed.

  • Free non-fiction read alouds.

  • NASA has made their entire online library free.

  • A partnership with the Berkeley Public Library allows BUSD students to access BPL's collections of audiobooks and ebooks without needing a library card. Download the Sora app.

Activities

  • ActivityHero is hosting free online classes every day school is closed. 

  • KIDS for the BAY has at home activities for families, including outdoor and environmentally-friendly activities and science experiments.

EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMMING

  • KQED is running educational programming aligned with current state standards each weekday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on KQED Plus channel. You can also view KQED Plus over-the-air with an antenna, on channels 9.2 or 54.

Internet

  • Internet Essentials is increasing speeds from 15/2 Mbps to 25/3 Mbps for all customers. This speed increase will happen automatically - no action is required by customers. In addition, new customers will receive two months of free service. Click here for more details.

  • Sonic is offering three months of free internet accessand unlimited nationwide home telephone service to new household customers with K-12, college students, or senior citizens 60 or older.
