Library
Not to brag or anything, but Washington’s library is pretty great.
All classes visit the Washington library once a week for 30 minutes. During that time, the librarian reads a story, and students browse and check out books. Kindergartners and 1st graders can check out one book, and 2nd through 5th graders can have 2 books checked out at any one time.
Fifth graders do a year-long Digital Citizenship workshop with Eric Silverberg (BUSD Teacher on Special Assignment) during their library time. They are also offered a chance to participate in the Newbery Book Club once a week during lunch.
